I've had 4 mossberg 500's, I didn't sell any because I was disastisfied, I sold them because my friends all wanted mine! I don't think I'd ever get a rem 870, not because I dislike them, I've never even fired one, I'm just 100% satisfied with the mossberg platform, I've used a 500A with a slug barrel and rifle sights, I've used my 18 inch home defense barrel with buck, I've used the 22" ported smoothbore with buck and slugs, they're just awesome! ESPECIALLY AT THAT PRICE!

I paid $340 for my two "tactical" ones (kept one) and $300 for my not-tactical-one that i converted to "tactical" shortly after for about $40. I paid $280 for a 22" smooth bore one. I've just got one now, but man, great guns.

When you sit down to clean it for the first time, youtube search for the mossberg 500 guide. Memorize what you do to get the bolt slide assembly back together... Anyone who's tried to get that stupid bolt slide back in knows why you really need to practice that :D

Thats a hell of a deal on a great home defense gun that you can get other barrels for pretty cheap used and have several guns in one as it only takes about 30 seconds to change the barrel.

Hey gang,

My Mossburg showed up from J&G. I ordered the $189 version. Arrived at my FFL shop well packed, clean, lubricated (maybe a little to much), and the shotgun appears to be in excellent condition and I definately think I could sell it for $300+ bucks to someone down the road.

Hopefully I can shoot it this weekend and I will let you know how the action works, but I suspect it will be just as good as the shotgun looks. Thanks again Silverstor!
